The Regulation EC 889/2008 is an implementing regulation and represents a further implementation of the Community regulatory framework. It establishes detailed rules for plant and animal production, for processing, marketing, labeling and control system of the organic products.

It extends the scope of the biological method also to the aquaculture, yeast and seaweed sectors.
